The HondaJet is Honda Aircraft Company’s light jet, instantly recognisable for mounting its engines above the wings rather than on the fuselage, a design that frees up cabin and baggage space. First delivered in 2015, it has been refined through the Elite and Elite II versions with greater range, higher payload and updated avionics. The Elite II is the most capable version of the line.
The HondaJet Elite II is the latest development of the HA-420 airframe and received FAA type certification in 2022. It carries over the signature over the wing engine mount that gives the type its roomy cabin and clean aerodynamics, while adding more usable fuel for greater range and a refreshed, quieter interior over earlier models.
Power comes from two GE Honda HF120 turbofans, and the flight deck uses a customised Garmin G3000 avionics suite that gained autothrottle and Garmin Emergency Autoland. The extra fuel lifts range to roughly 1,500 nautical miles, and the cabin retains a private aft lavatory along with both nose and aft baggage compartments.
