A real step up from the very light jet: more cabin, more range, and the sweet spot for trips up to about three hours.
What it can really do
Light jets such as the Embraer Phenom 300, Hawker 400 and Cessna Citation CJ2 and CJ3 typically seat seven and are good for flights up to about three hours, which is roughly as long as you would want to sit in an aircraft this size. They are great for parties of up to six, though once you reach six or seven it gets really tight. Four to five passengers is the ideal load.
They carry more luggage than a very light jet, cruise a little faster and reach further, which makes them one of the most useful and popular classes in charter for short and medium hops.
Common routes

- Los Angeles – Cabo San Lucas
Around the three-hour mark, such as London to Athens or Dubai to Cairo, a full cabin starts to push the limit.
