The Gulfstream G500 is a clean-sheet large-cabin jet that entered service in 2018, bringing a modern flight deck with active control sidesticks. It combines long range and high speed with a spacious, quiet cabin. It sits alongside the larger G600 in Gulfstream’s current range.
The G500 was launched as a clean-sheet design in 2014, first flew in May 2015 and entered service in 2018. It is powered by two Pratt and Whitney Canada PW814GA engines and introduced the award-winning Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck, which uses active-control sidesticks and touchscreen displays in place of conventional yokes.
The cabin stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and is arranged in three living zones, with 1,715 cubic feet of volume. The G500 sits below the G600 in Gulfstream’s line and shares much of its technology with that aircraft, pairing long range with the manufacturer’s latest flight deck and cabin systems.
