The G280 is Gulfstream’s super-midsize jet, developed with Israel Aerospace Industries and entering service in 2012 as a successor to the earlier G200. It is known for strong range and high-altitude performance for its class, comfortably linking city pairs that rivals cannot reach nonstop. The cabin seats up to nine.
The G280 first flew in December 2009 as the G250 and was renamed in 2011, earning both Israeli and United States certification in September 2012 with deliveries beginning the same year. It is Gulfstream’s super-midsize model, positioned below the marque’s large-cabin aircraft and competing with the Challenger 350 and Citation X+.
Two Honeywell HTF7250G engines are matched to the PlaneView280 flight deck, which is based on Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion with three 15-inch displays. The flat floor cabin stands 6 feet 1 inch tall, runs to 25 feet 10 inches in length, carries 19 windows and holds a low 4,800 foot cabin altitude, with an enclosed rear lavatory using a vacuum system.
