History

The Citation X, first delivered in the 1990s, became famous as the fastest civilian aircraft in the world, cruising close to the speed of sound. The upgraded Citation X+, introduced in 2014, pushed speed and range further while adding a modern cabin. It is the choice for travellers who value pace above all.

The Citation X+, also known as the Citation Ten, is the upgraded evolution of the original Citation X, which first flew in 1993. The X+ completed its first flight in 2012 and earned certification in 2014, remaining in production until 2018, and across the family around 338 aircraft were built, of which 29 were X+ models.

Two Rolls-Royce AE 3007C2 engines drive it to a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.935, making it the fastest production civil aircraft. It is fitted with the Garmin G5000 flight deck, and its cabin measures 5 feet 8 inches in height with a dropped centre aisle, narrower than most super-midsize rivals, reflecting a design focused on speed rather than cabin volume.

FAQ

How many passengers can it carry? 8 to 9 in a typical layout.

What trips suit it best? Longer trips of five to six hours in comfort.

How much does it cost to charter per hour? As a guide, around USD 6,000 to 8,500 per hour, depending on the route, dates and operator. Aaliya Jets always quotes the real operator price, with no hidden markup.

Is there an enclosed toilet? Yes, an enclosed lavatory at the rear of the cabin is fitted as standard.

Can you stand up in the cabin? Not fully. The cabin height is 5 feet 8 inches with a dropped centre aisle, so most passengers will stoop rather than stand upright.

What makes it distinctive? Its speed. A maximum of Mach 0.935 makes it the fastest production civil aircraft, which shortens time in the air on longer routes.

How far can it fly nonstop? Up to 3,242 nautical miles, enough for many transcontinental legs at high cruise speed.

Can luggage be reached during the flight? No. The baggage compartment is in the tail and accessed externally, so cases cannot be reached once airborne.
